A different/attempted postive view on this current mess

I've seen a lot of people losing their minds over the current bad run of form and I’ll try and put a optimistic view on it all.
Firstly even in the very worst case scenario west ham lose the next 3 games, there is 31 games left to turn it around and 14 wins are needed to stay up, less than half the games available.
Secondly on his appointment MP and DS both said this is a 3 year project so we need to manage expectations better whilst MP tries to change the football mentality from David Moyes and Bilic's defensive and counterattacking football to that is offensive and on the front foot.
Thirdly the games against Bournemouth and Wolves were lost to individual errors, ogbonna for bournemouth and Sanchez for Wolves. MP dropped ogbonna from the league squad for that straight away and may do the same for sanchez.
Saturday we also saw the CB first choice partnership has been established as balbuena and Diop, one of the main issues sorted, now the other areas of the side can be focused on such as the midfield partnership.
Wolves are a very good side shown by their draw (should have won really) with Man City and also Pattricio made that game changing save from marko.
West Ham rarely do well against liverpool anyway and in my opinion a bit of better finishing would have beaten arsenal away, which is a rare thing for us.
I firmly believe MP will turn it around but the next 3 games nothing is expected, anything is a bonus if achieved.
Fingers crossed Lanzini will be back in January to drive the team forward too.

The problem is one of coaching belief in success, commitment and responsibility for the team, I agree.
However, it seems in Pellegrini’s case that you can’t coach attitudes you don’t have. Having said that, I very much hope I’m proved wrong on this after the break.

Snodgrass cannot be picked anymore.
Antonio cannot be picked anymore.
That would be a start.
MP then needs to start coaching the players properly and carrying out transition from defence to attack and vice versa faster and more fluently.
And that's all I will say because when you have some cunt on here saying "Diop is shit" then its not really a thread I want to hand around on too long.

We should be beating Bournemouth and Wolves at home. Simple as that. These losses should be seen as upsets to an established PL club but to be honest, from our performances they are deserved. We have a hell of a corner to turn in order to survive.

The most surprising thing of all is that we already had a better squad than Liverpool, with £100mil of new additions you'd think we should be beating teams like Wolves.

If you notice Pellegrini has given the likes of Noble, Ogbonna, Arthur, Snodgrass and Zabaleta first dibs in the first team and each of them I'm afraid has made his job a hell of a lot harder by being what we all knew lacklustre and SLOOOOOOOOOOW.
I'm thinking he was hoping to not have to introduce so many new faces at once, but seeing as the likes of Noble & Ogbonna take about 6 games at the least to get going EVERY fucking season they've been here and they are (even when up to their top speed) still not fast this has made it a nightmare start for us.
They have made the new players job fucking difficult to adapt.

Apparently only 2 teams have run less distance than us so far this season? Fucking depressingly familiar story
Alan Smith called it right in the Times today - we needed pace and unpredictability in the summer and have ended up with a load of expensive one-dimensional plodders

Very sensible OP.
I was at the game on Saturday. It was a very poor performance, there is no sugar coating that, but equally this is a new team that has not settled in yet and it needs to be given time.
The main weakness on Saturday was the midfield. Wilshere and Snodgrass is not a pairing that will dominate any Premier league game. They are too slow and cannot beat their man or unlock a defence. When you lose the battle in midfield you lose the game, irrespective of the strength of attack or defence.
The harshest stat of all is that we have only scored one goal from open play in four matches.
That said, we fans have legendary impatience but we should be wary of writing off players in their first few games. Arnautovic was a liability in his first few games for us but evolved into our best player with time.
There is enough on show from Yarmolenko, Sanchez (who had a good game before his mistake), Balbuena, Fabianski and especially Diop to see that the Summer spending blitz has strengthened the squad and brought in better players

I think this quote sums it all up
Pep Guardiola gave an interview to Gary Neville at the end of last season and he said that one of his biggest demands of his players is ‘you’ve got to run’. Think about that and then look at West Ham. Some can’t run. Some on Saturday chose not to run. I don’t see this as a short-term problem.
Quite right, shameful that a manager and a group of players cannot muster the mere basics of professional football.

I'd be very surprised if DS has not covered his financial tail with MP after all the misfires the club has experienced of late.
If one player is fucking you about, you can drag him in and have it over, frighten or persuade him down, or get rid on loan etc.
If, as it seems, we have several players taking the piss, that is far more serious. You saw what happened to José at Chelsea. .
